Sewer Line Repair in Marietta
📍 Marietta, GA
The Problem
While in the process of purchasing this home, the buyer's inspector found a blockage in the sewer line 20 feet from the house. The owner, Sherri, immediately reached out to us to investigate further. A camera inspection confirmed standing water beginning just a foot from the home, revealing a belly in the sewer main. This dip in the line was trapping water instead of allowing it to drain properly toward the street, leading to slow drainage and the risk of recurring backups.
Our Solution
After confirming the belly in the sewer main, our team excavated and replaced approximately 45 feet of the sewer line. Because the available slope from the home was minimal, we extended the repair beyond the initially identified problem area in order to tie into the best possible connection point and achieve proper fall for the system to drain correctly.
Additional improvements included:
- Removed the defective section of pipe and installed new piping and fittings
- Installed a new two-way cleanout for easier access to future drain cleaning and maintenance
- Took care to minimize disturbance to the surrounding yard during excavation
Once the new line was in place, we tested the system to confirm it was draining properly and functioning as intended.
The Result
- New underground sewer line with proper slope and drainage
- New two-way cleanout for easier future maintenance
- Resolved recurring drainage issues caused by the belly in the line
- Long-term peace of mind
